Product Description

The Quahog Shell Leather Belt comes with a handcrafted solid brass, red bronze or white bronze silver quahog shell buckle that has been made in the village of Cotuit for over 45 years.

Just 3 miles away in Marstons Mills, New England Leathersmith Jeff Taylor bench crafts belts in his shop for this quahog shell buckle. Indians used quahog shells to make beads that were used as money (called wampum).

In much of the United States, quahogs are simply called “hard clams” or “hard-shell clams”.

Made in USA.
